Sarah Paulson’s Emmys 2016 Win ‘Feels Pretty Great’ Says Real-Life Marcia Clark

Sarah Paulson wasn’t the only one jumping for joy over her Emmys win! The real-life Marcia Clark told Us Weekly how it felt to see the actress walk away with the award.

“To have someone as phenomenal as Sarah play me and then win?” she said. “It feels pretty great.”

Paulson won best actress in a limited series or a television movie for her portrayal of the famous prosecutor in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

She even brought Clark as her date to the awards, and dedicated her speech to the “whip-smart, giant-hearted” attorney.

The 41-year-old praised her for dedicating herself “to righting an unconscionable wrong,” and apologized for carelessly judging her during the murder trial.

Clark clearly enjoyed the prestigious awards ceremony as Us caught her walking into the Governors Ball official afterparty alongside the show’s writer and producer, Ryan Murphy — who also took away an Emmy.

“We are gonna drink!” he chimed in when Us asked Clark how she was planning on celebrating.

“What he said!” Clark confirmed.

The show’s host, Jimmy Kimmel, had joked about Paulson and Clark, who were sat next to one another, during his opening monologue.

“I’d also like to acknowledge the winner of tonight’s plus-one contest, Sarah Paulson, who played Marcia Clark and actually brought Marcia Clark with her tonight,” he said. “Because everyone in L.A. knows, if you want to win, sit next to Marcia Clark.”

He then added: “Marcia, this must be very strange for you. Are you rooting for O.J. to win this time?”
