“Such a beautiful and important evening!” the mogul, 70, wrote to his more than 13 million followers. “The forgotten man and woman will never be forgotten again. We will all come together as never before.”
Trump’s team reportedly revoked his Twitter privileges just days before the election against his opponent, Hillary Clinton. During the 18 month-long campaign, he often was criticized for posting many controversial remarks on the social media platform. In the past, he’s lashed out at his Democratic opponent, called Mexican immigrants rapists and slammed women’s looks.

As previously reported, the former Celebrity Apprentice host won the election after earning 276 electoral college votes. (Candidates need to secure 270 votes to win.) Afterward, he addressed his supporters — with his running mate, Mike Pence, by his side — at the Hilton hotel in Midtown Manhattan.
“It is time for us to come together as one united people. I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans, and this is so important to me. For those who have chosen to not support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I am reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so we can unify our great country,” he said.
“As I’ve said from the beginning, ours was not a campaign but rather an incredible and great movement made up of millions of hardworking men and women who love their country and want a better and brighter future for themselves and for their family,” he continued. “It’s a movement comprised of Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds and beliefs who expect our government to serve the people, and serve the people it will. Working together, we will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation and renewing the American dream. I’ve spent my life in business looking at the untapped potential in projects and in people all over the world, that is now what I want to do for our country. Tremendous potential. … It’s gonna be a beautiful thing.”
